- Santa Ana winds test every tree. The fall wind events find the dead wood and the over-heavy crowns, especially on the exposed slopes of Anaheim Hills and Santa Ana Canyon. Thinning before the season beats cleaning up after it.
- Fire zones need clearance. Homes near the hills in east Anaheim and Yorba Linda carry defensible-space expectations. Keeping trees limbed up and off structures is part of that.
- Old neighborhoods, old trees. The mature trees around The Colony and downtown Fullerton predate most of the houses. They need real pruning cuts, not topping. We do not top trees.
- City trees are the city's. Parkway street trees are trimmed by the City of Anaheim, not by contractors. We work the trees inside your property line.

Tree service questions we get in Anaheim
When is the best time of year to trim trees in California?
Most trees here do best trimmed in late fall through winter, while they are dormant. Palms are the exception: they are usually cleaned up in late spring and early summer after the seed pods form. Dead, broken or dangerous limbs come off any time of year.
Who trims the street trees in Anaheim?
Trees in the city parkway, the strip between sidewalk and curb, are maintained by the City of Anaheim's Public Works crews, so you should not pay anyone to trim those. Trees inside your property line are yours, and that is the work we do.
Can I trim my neighbor's branches that hang over my yard?
In California you can generally trim branches back to your property line as long as the cut does not destroy the tree. It is worth a conversation with the neighbor first. We handle these cuts often and keep them clean and legal.
Does tree removal include the stump?
Removal takes the tree down to a low stump. Grinding the stump below grade is its own step with its own machine, which is why we quote stump grinding separately. Most Anaheim customers do both at once.
