I’m so glad we finally found Sunny. We were looking for an all-in-one groundskeeper for: large palm, banana, and ficus trees, hedges, sprinkler system, weeds, and mowing. They were able to do initial cleanup at a great price, and we are pleased with the weekly maintenance pricing, too. They did an amazing job!! I would recommend to anyone needing a legit groundskeeper!

Sunny’s Gardening responded quickly with an estimate and scheduled the work quickly. On the day of service (tree trimming and yard clean up) they were prompt, communicative, pleasant and efficient. We will be having them do our yard maintenance. Very pleased.

Our home base. The flats of central and West Anaheim are 1950s and 60s tract homes with front lawns on clay soil, so most of our work here is weekly mowing and edging and sprinkler repair on irrigation that is as old as the house.
Around the Colony, the historic district near downtown, lots are smaller and the trees are older, which means more hand work and careful trimming near roofs and power lines. Thinking about pulling the lawn out? Anaheim Public Utilities has a turf replacement rebate, and we build the low-water yard that goes in its place.
Hillside lots, and the slope changes everything, up to the acre estates of Peralta Hills. Water runs off clay before it soaks in, so sprinklers need short repeated cycles and slopes do better on drip. Most streets here answer to an HOA that cares what the front yard looks like, so we keep hedges, lawn edges and slopes to that standard every visit.
The Santa Ana winds come straight down the canyon in fall. That is the season for thinning heavy canopies before they drop limbs, and for clearing dry brush off the slope behind the house.
Half-acre and bigger lots, many of them horse properties with long fence lines and trails behind the back gate (more on how we work Yorba Linda). More ground means more hedge and shrub trimming, more tree work and a lot more green waste, and we haul all of it the same day.
The homes up against the hills sit in wind and brush country, so seasonal cleanups matter more here than in the flats. Big lawns also mean big water bills, which is why many Yorba Linda owners ask us to convert part of the yard to rock and drought-tolerant planting.
Fullerton grew up around orange groves, and a lot of backyards still have an old citrus tree or two that needs real pruning, not a quick shear. The older neighborhoods near downtown have big shade trees over small bungalow lots, so trimming is about clearance over roofs, driveways and the neighbor's fence.
Up in Sunny Hills the lots get larger and sloped. Across the city the irrigation tends to be as old as the trees, so sprinkler repair and replacing worn-out systems is steady work for us here.
Two different kinds of yard. Near downtown Brea the homes go back to the 1920s oil-town years: small lots, mature trees and narrow side yards where equipment has to be carried in. Up in the hills, newer HOA tracts like Blackstone and Olinda Ranch have slopes, drip irrigation and written landscape standards.
In the old neighborhoods we mostly do weekly maintenance and tree trimming. In the hill tracts it is slope planting, drip repair and keeping the front yard inside HOA rules.
Right next door to our home base, so it is one of the cities we can reach fastest. Placentia is mostly 1960s and 70s tract homes plus townhome and HOA communities, where the yard has to look kept every week, not just after a big cleanup.
That makes it scheduled maintenance country: the same crew on the same day, lawn mowed and edged, hedges kept square, weeds handled before the HOA letter shows up. Lawns from that era are often worn thin, and new sod fixes that in a day.
Old Towne Orange is a historic district of bungalows from the early 1900s. The yards are small, the trees are decades old and the access is tight, so the work is done by hand and carefully: trimming around old roofs, keeping hedges low along the sidewalk, and planting that suits the age of the house.
East of the 55 the lots open up, and around Orange Park Acres they turn into large horse properties with long drives and big trees. Out there it is tree service, brush and full cleanups.
